We've turned the Constitution into a holy relic, instead of a living, changing document, more's the pity. I certainly agree the election should have been redone: "gasp, it's never been done before! The pres must take office by January 20!" Um, so? It used to be in March, so it's changed before. My personal not-so-humble-and-in-fact-characteristically-hubristic opinion is that Gore won both the nation and Florida. Neener. |
