We always tend to assume our own side is, because all the information we get says so. But most of the suffering in Iraq is caused by the west, not by Saddam, because we want what he's got, so we demonise him as an excuse to steal it. Saddam's no angel, but he's no worse than a whole pile of leaders that we back, and not a few that our countries fought more humanitarian leaders to put in place.
