Another hypothetical situation:

You are on a pacific cruise when you accidentally fall overboard and nobody notices. You are in mid-ocean 1000 miles from the nearest landfall and no life preserver. You are going to drown.

Now, are you going to tell the sea that you have the "right" to live? Is the sea going to listen? Maybe take pity and wash you gently up on a distant shore somewhere? no it's going to kill you. Not deliberately, not with any kind of malice but because you just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I would say that that is a pretty conclusive turnaround of your inalienable "right" to live. That "right" then becomes a "privelige" you will have to fight tooth and nail to overcome the sea and make it to a landfall. And when the sea does kill you, what then? Because the sea took away your "right" to live will your next of kin demand retribution? Maybe there is an evaporation squad on hand to punish the naughty sea?

Your "rights" are merely a collection of ethos priveliges which are in no way universal. When taken out of your local sphere of understanding they become as meaningless as the squarking of the seagulls flying over your floating corpse.
