I should probably be heading to bed now, with glaring mistakes like this popping up. What I honestly believe is after Afghanistan has been secured, they will be sent back. The problem is that if they are sent back now, the Afghani authorities will have no place for them. They are being detained until they their country has the resources to deal with them. Hell, most Taliban soldiers have been allowed to return to Afghani society. These guys will probably be allowed the same, but they could do too much damage at this time.
