An International Law is not meant to violate a local country law but to make the International affaires easier. It has nothing to do with what you choose to do in the US.
The point is that instead of going through months of discussions before getting to the point any two contries could start on the same footing and get their joint affaires in order faster.

Your countries laws "dictate"? And any international law that says any different than yours "will not be accepted"?
What is that? I thought the US was a democracy. What happened to freedom?

Basically what you wrote is that you have a right to do anything anywhere but if anyone tries to tell you what to do you can beat them down without worrying about retaliation?
When in Rome... Think on it...

And besides. The international laws would not be based on who has the biggest wallets or guns. It's about the global climate.
The US has every right to stick to their own laws and oppinions in their own corner of the playground, but that does Not give the US a right to go an whack other contries over the head with a muddy spade just because they feel they're wrong about something.
