so I've not made it to the distrib wars. People tend to feel passionately about their OS or apathetic. All OS have their good and bad points and each person has their own reasons for choosing whatever OS they use. I use both mandrake linux and windows98SE... Both OS have some good points both also have some irritating points. I have some curiosity about other OS and eventually I'll try them and form my own personal opinion on them. I try personally to avoid forming much opinion on it til I've tried it. Basically I belive to each their own. The OS I have tried are win 3x, win2K, win98SE, msdos, pcdos(I think it was called its been years since I tried it but was a ms dos clone with some added features), OS/2, original apple OS, redhat 7x, and mandrake 6x-8x. I plan on trying at some point FreeBSD, BeOS, and possibly AtheOS.(if I get an apple later I'll be likely using OS X and see what I can do with darwin) I've sort of looked at debian and no offense to those that use it but the arguments pro and con leave me dizzy so thats why its on the try later list.
But yes I can see your point. Why can't some just agree to disagree? or simply admit all OS have pros and cons about them. It's nice that people feel passionate about whatever but it's bad when they try to shout or whatever in someones face to bring them around to their way of thinking and often doing such doesn't work. |
