How are Red Hat and Mandrake cheesy? They have a graphical installer? They don't use dpkg? They don't care about APT and prefer their own system of package updates?

I can do whatever I want with my Mandrake install -- anything that a Debian user can do. Better yet, I don't have to install the damn thing twice -- and go from "stable" to "testing" or "unstable" just to get the latest programs. If I wanted to be a beta tester I would be on Mandrake Cooker. I can install anything, and commerical packages usually are in RPM format over DEBs. Just because some commitee chooses what goes into it and makes a non-free directory on the install CD doesn't make them automatically better.
