Seaman is (arguably) the best goalie in the country and won his place on merit. (I am a Villa fan so you should know how hard it is for me to say that!) But at the end of the day he dropped a clanger. And if a goalie makes a mistake then it almost always ends up as a goal. Tuff on Seaman just as it has been tough on Stuart Pearce, Chris Waddle, Gareth Southgate etc. Everybody remembers Gareth Southgates penalty miss in Euro '96 but nobody remebers the open goal that I could have scored but Gazza missed during the 90 minutes of normal play in that game. If you make a mistake when the country is watching then you are going to carry the cross for a very long time. Not fair I know but these guys get paid well enough for it!
