Name one standard, PC component in the PS2, only reason people do that, is because they can (ala, dreamcast, N64, PS1, and virtually every other console system out there) and the monitor thing was for the DC (by the name of the VGA box) and the mouse, keyboard weren't designed for the PS2, they're usb, wich the PS2 has, and a good thing, too leads to the potential for lots more flexability than any other console system.
