of tougher materials than the average laptop kbd... I type with my nailtips, not the pads of my fingers. This is because I've got half-centimeter nails and getting a nail stuck makes me typing slow down for some reason. ;) This method leads to laptop keyboards with all the letters chipped off and lots of gouges and grooves in the keys I use most. yay me. :P OTOH, the desktop kbd I've been using for nearly a year has yet to show any signs of wear aside from slight shininess on the keys...
