Question of the Day! by kickstart2006-11-19 12:23:33
Anything that doesn't affect me directly by nix 2002-06-25 08:13:59
I live in Calgary, and rely on transit to get to and from work. The train goes right through downtown. The station where I usually switch trains (right in front of the convention center) is now blocked off and had at least 30 cops hanging out on the platform at 8:00 am local time. I'd hate to see it a 3:00 pm when everything gets going.

I really pity my friend, though. He works at the front door of the downtown health center. Right where all the anarchists and rabble-rousers run when they get pepper-sprayed.

There are also rumours that our friendly neighbourhood International Terrorists are also planning a "disturbance". Oh Joy.

Oh, you mean what do I prefer when I protest? Sending a few well-written letters to some newspapers and a few key politicians. Back in high school, I did some protesting of the inadequate funding for rural schools, and succeeded in getting quoted in the Legislature. King Ralph (the Premier of Alberta) got kinda annoyed, and started a chain reaction that caused the school principle to call me out of class a few hours later. Of course, he couldn't really complain, since he had seen the letter before I sent it to anyone.
