The People's Republic of Santa Monica Strikes again! Just heard this on the news: The City of Santa Monica (CA, USA) school district has banned the playing of the schoolyard game 'tag' because it is "harmful to the self -esteem of those who play"! According to the school superintendent for the district, the children who do better at the game tend to be bigger and stronger than the others playing, and that makes the smaller children feel inferior. In the interests of preserving these fragile flowers self-image, the game is now banned for all students on school grounds. Robert Heinlein was right: these are the Crazy Years....
