Visual Basic, UDP, Win API, and multicasting by mikosullivan 2002-06-25 07:18:21
I'm attempting to set up UDP multicasting. I've gotten as far as sending out the UDP messages, and if they are sent directly to a real IP, everything works. However, if I broadcast to 224.0.0.1 then I don't receive anything. The problem (or one of them) is that I'm not telling the system to listen for packets being transmitted to that IP. There must be an API call to tell Windows to listen for that IP, but my best Googling can't find such an API. Can some nice UFie point me in the right direction for this quest?
