"Kent" apparently means coast or edge in old english, and "kant" is edge in norwegian. "Dahl" is almost "dal", which means valley in norwegian. Not sure where the H came in, but last I looked, I read somewhere that it traces back to Denmark or Germany.
Is it just me, or does that sound like I should be on the edge of a depression :-(
