But it is written. Therefore it must be interpreted by judges from time to time. In the "legal" sense of stealing, it may or may not qualify based on either (or none) of our arguments - that would be for a judge to determine. But you weren't going for a strictly legal definition. In real world terms, you ARE preventing a lawful sale by not purchasing something that you have no legal right to have otherwise. If you leave it where it is, then you have done nothing wrong. If you illegally acquire it, you have stolen from the lawful seller.
