come in. They are in the front of the asteroid, so they block our super-advanced anti-space-alien tracking technology (SAASATT). But once it has passed (he, imagine passing an asteroid) they suddenly pop up all over our monitors and the astronomers give a collective "DOH!" And, because it's soccer field sized, they could have easily mistaken it for bleed over from the TV coverage!
