I thank people alot because I like to show my appreciation if someone is helpful. Of course, I am also required to thank people for calling after every tech support call, which I guess makes me a liar. However, Americans in general probably don't say it enough as they perceive they are entitled and have the god-given right to every service under the sun. You want to see a culture that thanks a lot, head to Canada or Japan.
