Things that don't often disturb me... by eli 2002-06-20 22:50:29
... odd title, but anyway. In my life past, the only times I had ever seen a life-flight helo. were in pictures or parked on the pad at the local hospital. Since starting my new job, I've watched it circly my building and land within yards... twice. The first time to assist what seemed to be a young child that had been injured at the boat shop across the street (one can only imagine what happend to warrent a life flight), and now today, I watched from my office window as they shut down I-15 so it could land at the site of a 1 vehicle accident... a convertable VW rabit... that had some how rolled/flipped into and along the center ditch, leaving a trail of debris reminding me of a yard-sale... Sadly enough, life flight landed and did not leave for 20 minutes... often not a good sign, and as it turns out, 2 black bags were later loaded into the back of a police van... See, now this is where my heading comes into play, this kind of thing happens "all the time", but since it was so close and so real it made me ponder... there are few worse ways to loose a loved one then to an auto accident... the unexpected suddeness of it is harsh... something I can only imagine... but all to vividly now.
