...says the person who has money to spend by SewerRat 2002-06-20 18:06:35
being something of a poor uni student who loves music, but doesn't want to spend money on it....

before filesharing of mp3s was big, I bought only three or four CDs, I wouldn't want to spend money on a cd from which I've only heard one song.
Now I'm a self admitted music pirate, I have tons of mp3s. And because of that, I listen to a lot more bands, get to hear music that I really like, but wouldn't have risked the money on...

...and have bought many more CDs

so if anything, in my (possibly isolated) case, I've spent more on cds due to mp3s. But we've all had this discussion before. My point is just that not everyone can afford to buy every cd from every band that they like.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for copyright, and buying music. I'm just also for music being available in other forms as well as store-bought cd.
