Today, a professional football (soccer) player was dramatically sacked (fired) from his club. He was further informed that he had "Insulted" his adopted country and that he "Bit the hand that feeds him". His club chairman also stated "I have no intention of paying a salary to someone who has ruined Italian soccer! he will NEVER set foot in [his club] again!" "What was this evil sportsman's crime?" I hear you ask. Has he been too free with the recreational substances? been bribing referees maybe? or perhaps he got caught in the wrong bedroom? No, i'm afraid his crime is far more serious than that. The player's name is Ahn Jung Hwan and he is the South Korean striker who scored the "Golden Goal" that knocked mighty Italy out of the World Cup this week. (Clicky for the story). Talk about unfair dismissal? I suggest that South Korea immediately declare war on Italy, that'd solve the problem! Baldrick:"Sounds like a nasty box of grapefruits to me, Mr. B!" Blackadder:"The phrase, Baldrick, is 'A bad case of sour grapes'! and yes, it bloody well is!!!"
