Lotus Notes does have a rules like feature called Agents. You can accuatly do more with Agent including building your own (with or without code). I have been using Lotus Notes for about 3 years now and the company is switching to Outlook shortly. Currently running 5.05 and it is compatabale with outlook. The database features are nice. especialy when you need to creat your own centralized document storage for national sites.
