Moore's Law... just got extended ;-) by DaNutBall2006-11-19 12:55:59
  I was just reading about Moore's Law.... by Gary_7 2002-06-20 10:14:34
and it seems to me that we keep forgetting the other half of Moore's law. He said that every 18 months the speed of the processor will increase by a factor of 2 and the size will decrease by a factor of 2. In other words, every 18 months processors will be twice as fast, and half as small. But nobody ever seems to want to quote the size part, just the speed part. Personally I think 18 months is just about right for the rest of us to keep up. I usually let it come around twice before I update. (I've got an PIII 800Mhz and my previous processor was a PMMX 200)
