yes I had 2 isp's that had problems with their pools, etc and I also turned on the modem speaker because I could tell if it would connect or not by the noise, etc. Drops are the worse particularly if your trying to download something.(I used to use "get it right" because it was the only way to be sure I'd get the darn file without trying so many times I was irritated to heck) My current computer btw has no modem. My modems (except for a 3com x2 winmodem) were isa and this mother board has no isa. I've not tried the winmodem though with linmodem drivers.<shrug> I figure when the networks complete later I'll just cross it and use one of the modems in the 3 other boxes if I need to fax something, etc.
