...and also an amateur philologist. Yes, the language is evolving, but in the evolution we sometimes lose track of the roots of words, and hence what they mean. I think it's good every now and then to delve into history and see what we come up with.

NB. I'm not necessarily saying this is true with the words I mentioned.
