I constructed a 2ft paper-mache plane out of newspaper and coathanger wire and packed it with fireworks. Unfortunately I put too much spray-paint on it and it didn't burn too well. Or so we thought. Everytime we crept close to try to re-light it, it would go off again in another place (I had it wired to blow off the tail, the wings, bits of the fuselage, fire a spinning top thingy as an ejecta-seat, etc. One of the under-carriage 'rockets' (ballers, we called them, because they fired 3 or 4 colured balls) fired as the plane (suspended from a tree) was slowly rotating and shot into a neighbor's window. Luckily no damage resulted and no-one outside us kids knew! |
