there are two ways to do a shaped charge in blackpowder... either way, you need something you can carve right.

If possible, the void should be void... however, epoxy resin is ok. If using a plastic plug (conical) to form the void, coat it thickly with wood glue, jam it in the end of your tube and get the powder in there. When the wood glue's dried (hide glue is best for this) you can hopefully twist out the plug, leaving bound gunpowder in the right shape. If not, you'll have to drill out the plug. A layer of aluminium foil also works. |
