you should of got an axe. Least thats what my aunt used. Then again chasing 200 chickens with an axe... Actually I think shot guns will leave a way nastier mark than a rifle. However you might of delt with several chickens at once had you used one... I've actually never fired one but been near one when it went off.(didn't like the noise personally or the thought of pellets comming back down as they shot straight up)
