you can take two items with the same size marker on it but they wont fit the same. Even if the cut looks the same they well wont be listed as the same size unless they are the same brand. I tried to get some jeans like this particular pair I like. But couldn't find the same brand though it did look the same. The sizings were diffrent though. 6 size numbers diffrence! Though when you put the old pair and new pair together they do look the same size and cut. Sometimes same sort of problem with shoes but basically thats a width issue. If its narrow I have to take a 7.5 to 8 womens if its wide I can take as small as a 7. I wish they were in general more standard. If it was more standard I'd probably go "hmm this looks nice" and just buy it without trying it on or I'd only need to try on one item to know if it looks ok and if I want to buy it. I think mauve is a lavender that is more pinkish<shrug> The other I don't know.
