This is kinda the way it should go with all of the devices on the LVD connection but remember each device must have its own ID. The Adaptec card is probably at 7, and the internal drive is likely at 0. Try setting the new tape drive to the ID number of the old tape drive.

Also, make sure all devices have the same parity setting (I usually set them all to enabled) and check the terminiation settings on the Adaptec card. With this type of setup the card should not be terminated on the LVD controller.

Another thing you might want to make note of is that tape drives are (on average) much slower than hard drives so benefit very little (read not at all) from the faster LVD connection. It's usually better to leave the HD on the LVD connection. There shouldn't be any problems with having all of the devices on the LVD bus.
