| I happen to like being incommunicado when I'm out and about. I look at it this way: Does it ever annoy you when someone who has a cell phone gets a call in the middle of lunch/dinner/a meeting/whatever, and cuts off the current in-person conversation to answer his/her phone? If so, just remember that if you get a cell phone so your friends can get ahold of you, you'll turn in to one of those people.
Don't get me wrong. There are perfectly good reasons to have a cell phone. It's fine if it's going to be your only phone, or if you are traveling a lot, or if you can't be incommunicado because of your job, or if you get it for emergencies. I just think it's a bad idea to get it just so friends can call you whever they want. |
