The RedHat annoyance thread. by allegory2002-06-19 06:41:03
Crashes how? by SnArL 2002-06-19 08:38:03
Does it just seem to lock up after periods of inactivity? I noticed that RedHat 7.2 seems to have problems with either suspend or standby mode (can't remember which right now, I was up too late last night playing Halo) I thought I corrected the problem by disabling the power savings mode in my BIOS. I know it's not the kernel, because I used the same kernel version and configuration at version 6.2 and didn't have any problems at all.
Are you using the grub bootloader? I do remember some guy from RedHat posting to the kernel mailing list that the version of grub that ships with 7.2 does something screwy to APM.

As for downloading the 7.3 ISOs, try using wget instead. I haven't tried using 7.3 yet, but this is because AFIK the kernel on the install media doesn't support LVM and I use a rootvg. Besides, my system is stable right now, so I'm not looking to screw with it. :)
