Actually, Hayden Christensen is a great actor. The writing was bad. That scene after he returned after finding his mom when he blows up about Obi Wan keeping him down was solid. Plus, he does a lot with his eyes. You can see the anger and frustration growing inside of him with each turn. The lines he has are so campy though. I'm amazed he can do them with a straight face.
