Is the plane ticket... by glenalec 2002-06-19 03:59:35
... from Shenyang, NE China also on you? Last time I tried to fly out of here under my own powers I was shot down by a US spy plane.

This was a 600C. I removed the three screws from the back and the two from the top (under the door you open to access the toner cartridge). Then I used a flat screwdriver to gently prise open the clips under the plastic seams. (I broke one - but you always do!). The back and front parts of the plastic case sort of pull apart but not completely and you have to jiggle them up and off - like taking off a tight sweater (you DO NOT want to see me in a tight sweater!)

You did take the toner cartrige out, didn't you? If not, do so now. on the left there was a small black plastic bracket with two black plastic buttons going through the metal. Press the front one and pull it out forwards. This will then let you get out the top paper rail by unclipping the two white plastic clips and rotating them 90 degrees (for some reason one in my printer was on backwards - I fixed that too!). Then you can unscrew and remove the heat-roller cover. If you are lucky, you can then carefully extract the jammed/torn/shredded paper.

If you are unlucky, you have to prise out the heat-roller (being careful not to strech the already tight power cables) and THEN you have easy access to any paper left.

THEN you have to re-assemble it with no parts left over.

Now you know why I felt like a super-hero!
