When I'm cut off in traffic, or I notice someone zipping up to the end of the lane-about-to-end to shove into traffic as far forward as they can, over half the time I'll notice that same driver flicking a cigarette out the window. Smokers just don't care, or they think they don't have to "lower" themselves to following the same rules of conscience and law the rest of us do. [I know, it's an unfair generalization, but it's really hard not to have these kinds of prejudices when they're constantly being proven right.]
The one thing I can't abide in smokers is those who flick their cigarette butts anywhere. Never mind the fact that I am tired of finding butts in my lawn when I go to mow (neither I nor anyone else in my house smokes) or on the sidewalk as I take my two-year-old son down to get the mail. It's dirty, disgusting, and it's littering for crying out loud. Besides, here in Colorado where half the state's on fire, that kind of careless, selfish attitude can and has caused widespread distruction. |
