| smoking ban in most public places in BC re restaurants, government buildings, etc. Now Pubs must be well ventilated but can have smoking, same with restaurants but government buildings and hospitals are still smoke free zones(same with schools I think).<shrug> They tried to enforce the total ban but venders complained about it that they'd loose lots of business and smokers also weren't amused. Personally though I'm an ex smoker(and am sensitive to smoke) I don't mind smoking as long as people are reasonable about it.(ie well ventillated place, they open a window, they don't blow it in my face, etc) Though smoking and drinking coffee seems ok enough though I've found it weird to see people eating and smoking at the same time.<shrug> Anyways most of the smokers I know are courteous smokers and aren't nasty/in your face about it to non smokers. I've seen more inflexable non smokers than I have seen smokers.(my roommate is one of those ones that no matter windows open, etc he wont let anyone smoke in the house) I think however some smokers should think about what their working on when smoking... I've worked in the food industry and was really disgusted one day to get some bread from a bakery and find a ciggaret filter baked in. :PPPP Obviously the person may not of hand their food handling certificate, etc or maybe they just didn't care but they shouldn't of been smoking while preparing food. |
