I saw commercials on cotton in BC before. I forget which tv stations ran it. But it showed that cotton tree symbol for the industry and went on about environmental stuff and how cotton is better/healthier to use. Not sure how many people are aware of it but cotton can be found in many parts of the world. I didn't realize that it existed in BC until I moved to Coquitlam where tons of it blows about this time of year and looks like dandilion fluff. Some local people do collect and cart it to make fabric/weave. Also yes the oil industry also had commercials years ago on the pipelines, etc. Some of it was trying to put out some form of positive PR after the bad oil spills they had. They similarly put out commercials on the plastics industry.(which I noted because my brother has a factor and has run one of the major bottle producing plants in north america)
