Structured environment. Stable(ish?) OS.

I remember the bare essentials of DOS.
I've (thankfully) forgotten most of the stuff we had to write to keep the FidoNET echo mail going.

<jealous>80% of my time is spent maintaining code for microcontrollers with no OS, 7.5K for CODE, and 1K RAM *wibble*</jealous>
