well I never did do BASIC on a windows machine... those were that "thing" in the corner that nobody really ever touched. We were all using apples in my class then. I never took VB but have seen it in action when my roommate was playing with it. That was quite enough ... Now on COBOL, etc there will come a day that some machines for something important are still running them and some new person wont have a clue how to maintain them. Unless they are switching over to a new system someone has to deal with those older machines or older programs in the meantime.(eh look at the space shuttles requiring now obsolete kind of things). Eh I liked my math and as for pascal it was the most "with it" language I think... Remember I took CS back in the mid 80's. :)
