languages we'd never of got to the new. Think of them as a stepping stone... and I actually did reasonable stuff under those languages. If it hadn't been for those of us programming under COBOL, PASCAL, FORTAN, and BASIC there wouldn't of been alot of programs out there running a variety of things. Which who knows what all that would of affected at the time.(think of it as a trickle down effect) My sister when she took drafting used programs written in COBOL and FORTAN. Similarly my brother used those languages when building at least two computers from the ground up.<shrug> Though one got toasty in a school fire...
