well - you could probably do something with software to check the temp but if the machine is crashing when you aren't around what you might want would be something to timestamp a log very obviously on that machine and use a second (reliable) machine to run the temperature checks - granted this all probably gets more involved than you can afford. you say it started 2 weeks ago how has the room where the machine changed in that time (if at all) has it gotten warmer or anything? if not at least you can then clearly rule out temperature as a factor. you *might* also check the batteries in the box too. i've seen servers go down when there were problems with batteries (replaced the battery and the machine was back in business)
