oops and... by Arienadean 2002-06-18 16:08:40
The *nix's I've semi looked at were: Mandrake, Redhat, SuSE, Slackware, LFS, BeOS and FreeBSD. I've used Mandrake and Redhat. I was going to try SuSE before but was told the menu system and some other things were diffrent than redhat/mandrake. The ones I intend to try at some point so far are SuSE, LFS, BeOS, and FreeBSD. Once I've tried those I may try Debian. I figure attempting LFS might prove educational and something good to do.<shrug> I'm not sure why but Debian and Slackware strike me as probably the two hardest to learn or deal with...<shrug> Btw though I find it hard to figure out where to look up and compare the various forms of *nix and get distribs from. I had a link once to a page full of diffrent distribs websites but lost it in some changes I made on my system before.
