The thing is they'll report back to the WC insurance carrier that Patient X has A,B, and C drugs found in their system. Nothing about them being perscriptions for asthma or thyroid, and the insurance carrier will initially refuse the claim based on the fact that Patient X was under the influence of drugs A, B, and C when the accident occured, and therefore not covered. The problem is with the insurance company here, as they are looking for ways NOT to pay the claim.
This is not a guarantee, but I know several people who has asthma, and they have a hard time with blood tests because of the asthma medications.
You'll probably have to get your own doctor to write up some documentation on your perscription history if this happens. |
