Speacially the trivia thread.
Anyway, i was at school this morning inputing grades to something they call "a program". My god, that is the most repulsive thing i've ever seen. I has some odd inerface, mostly consisted of green and yellow colors. I guess the "designer" is colorblind. When inputing grades you, normally, would do so with numeric keyboard, but this program randomly turns off num lock. When you try to print it freezes. Database is out of dated so it cannot be manually edited in acess.
Not to mention what happenes when teachers who are not so frendly with computers try to use it. I don't blame them, they have their job and are doing it well. I blame the idiot who wrote that "program". He had to consider those teachers too.
Another problem is related to multiusing. More people trying to work on same database at same time (all teachers have to take care of their classes in relative short time interval). Program, supposedly, allows more people to work (over the network) but, you guessed it, there is no documentation. Regardelss of your experience with poorly documented programs, intuition doesn't work. Author has some weird kind of "common sense" (as in no common sense).
All in all worst computer related experience in the last. . .put a word meaning very long time here.
After hour of torture i just said to same random first graders thet were standing there to take care of it and went to use free school's bandwith.
But the school server was infected. With some kind ofw ite nasty virus. Took us (me and my friend) another hour to exterminate it. After that being done (and Scorpions's album with Berlin Philharmonic being played for the third time and all 3-days-old coke drunk) came the principal and said: "Go home.". So we went home. 30°C, sun frying, i was just waiting for the big magnifying glass to appear in the sky.
Public transport is story for itself. Crowded buses and smelly old people. .. arghh. . i wish i hadn't left my bike at my friend's place yesterday.
So now i'm considering writing usable program with my friend. Maybe even sell it. |
