COAX questions. by pecosdave2002-06-17 12:19:33
From a Road Runner installer by shroomy 2002-06-17 12:54:52
For CATV and broadband, u want to use RG6. 59 has too much signal loss. Even for short distances. You also wanna buy it directly from your cable company in most cases. Or maybe graybar. You want to make sure it has good shielding.

Treat it as a hub. Get one splitter (if possible, sometimes not possible) that is an Adtronix 1000mhz. You have to account for signal strength coming from the CableCo and drop loss and splitter loss and fittings and and and.......

Or, find out how much it would be for the cable company to do it. I never would have said this until i was an installer. it really is better to have your cable company take care of it. (If they will. I work for a medium sized division that is VERY tough on their installer about doing things right, damn the cost)
