Well, I'm not most people... by IByte 2002-06-17 12:43:00
You know what I found out today? There's no way my computer will run Delphi 5, Matlab 6 and IE simultaneously without crashing, especially not with all the servers I also have running (I have a campus LAN broadband connection). This would, however, be rather convenient for working on my neural networks assignment.
Perhaps I should try to get me another box for use as a dedicated server; but then I'd need to find out how to network all that conveniently together, as the files to be used are still on the same harddisk, of course. And I don't think I really have to mention that I don't have a multi-billion dollar budget...

But back to the point of the viruses... Especially if you are online a lot or share a lot of data otherwise, I would consider it very unwise to not run a virus scanner. Like Arcanum said, the mystery e-mail attachment is by far not the only way to catch a virus, although it is the one that has recently become the most infamous.
