| COAX questions. |

Does anyone here know what types of COAX cable to use for what? I bought a bunch of RG59 thinking it was the right thing to use to wire up my house for TV and Cable modem, but when I got to the source of the cable from the cable company, as well as the older cable in the house, it's bigger, I can't even crimp my RG59 ends on it. I'm thinking that it's probably RG9. Should I be using RG9 instead, or am I doing this right? The picture looks slightly fuzzy eaither way like it's my neighborhood feed, so it doesn't seem to matter on the small scale I've compleated so far but I know the large scale is where the problems crop up. I'm trying to find a comparison on the web, but all I can find are people trying to sale the stuff, no info surounding it.
Another question, should I treat it sorta like ethernet and hubs? I'm thinking one splitter in a central location with all the feeds in the house running off of one instead of a splitter here and and splitter there to keep cascades down. I figure the signal strength would be split more evenly this way. I know eather way will work but I'm looking for "proper" and "best results". As it stands the way my house is built its really hard to get at any space in the walls and there's very little attic space to make good use of so my biggest challenge is getting it where it needs to be. |
