I mean really, Christians don't follow the old testament, nor should they. Thats what Jesus and the apostles did, write a new set of behavior guides.
So is the New Testament that wacky? OK. obviously some of it is. I love the parable that talks about the lamps. The good little preapred girls had enough oil, and net their huspand and went to the party. The bad ones ran out of oil, had to go buy more and lost out. What does this teach us? First, don't light the silly lamp till the husband is in site, your wasting valuable reources. Second, don't share with anyone, unless you wanna share your husband too. Third, be prepared (to steal the oil if those selfish cows won't give you any.)
