I feel it would be a terrible sin to force a woman to bear a child of rape. The emotional trauma would be relived each time she saw the child. Even if she gave it up for adoption, she would be dealing with that trauma first for the nine months of her pregnancy, and again each time she thought of the fact that her assailant had produced an offspring, and she was forced to bear it. I can not imagine the damage that would do to her mental health.

Killing a woman to bring a child into the world is wrong also. More so when the child will be stillborn, or be severely damaged or defective.

I know the conflict about when a life begins is still unsettled, but I feel that an early term abortion in cases like these, where you only remove a blastocyte, (not even an embryo,) is a much preferred option to the trauma and death you could avoid.

I feel somewhat differently about later term abortions. The problem becomes much more grievous and difficult to decide as the pregnancy progresses.

Children ARE wonderful creatures, but we differ on the definition of children, as do most people on either side of this discussion. For the record, I am not a radical pro-choice proponent, either.

I'm sorry you see the world in black and white. I'm sure it makes decisions much easier for you, but I doubt that is necessarily a good thing.
