| I got out of bed AGAIN. I went home, with my new motherboard and working power supply (find yesterday's thread if you're confused) (or don't, I guess it's up to you). I plugged it all in. And guess what? No video. No beeps, either. Different video card...no video. Still no beeps. Removed RAM and video card. No beeps yet. Began to swear. Then there were bleeps, over words like *#$% and @*&$, but no beeps. By this point, I'm grumpy, and considering taking it all back to CompUSA and getting my money back, minus 15% restocking for the CPU and RAM. I don't need a computer this badly. Heck, I've got four at work, why do I even want one at home? So I'm back in the office yet again today, trying to track down the source of my troubles. It won't give video with a PCI card either, which befuddles me to no end. I'm going to try a different case, on the off chance that the speaker in this one isn't working, explaining the lack of beeping. And I'm going to see if I can get the OLD motherboard working again - or at least parts of it, so I'll have something to prop my feet on when I'm in the living room. Pray, does anyone have any ideas? Should I cast bones and sprinkle it with holy water, chanting "The power of Christ compels you!" over and over? |
