| Anybody got anything on this one? |

I tried to group the numbers in pairs and then did a %26 on them. Then tried simple frequency counting.
It seemed to work to some degree.
First of all, I ignored those numbers that wouldn't fit into the pairs scheme, like the 156 or the 896 part of th 1700896. Then I tried to treat them the same way as the pairs. Then I thought about the fact that no two digits ever appear after one another and tried expanding 156 into 15 56 and so on.
In the end I just grouped everything into pairs, ignoring the spaces in the cryptogram. There being an even number of numbers that worked. Then I applied frequency analysis on it and got the following:
HEARSIDCENTASPRTTFEMTTMGNEIWEHRCBUONNLOYLOOAAISD
I mean that cleary says HEAR SID CENTASP.... and then the rest doesn't make sense. Also, in the end of the string, there's two double letters immediatly after one another. I don't know any english word that has something like that, but I seem to recall there might be one or two such words...
What bothers me the most is that, ok I counted, that's how I found out you could group everything into pairs. But "The ants go marching"?
I mean, ants march like how? Like in a straight line, or like in the Antz, meaning only one will return? Or what?
Well, maybe somebody has had more success than me and would like to share some of his/her knowledge? |
